Summary: The race to see what could get into space faster sure was something. Sure, it was born out of a spiteful hatred between two countries equal in ego but different in approach, but the scientific advancements were hard to deny. However, not one of those discoveries were nearly as destructive and horrifying as this one.

History: It's the twilight years of the Cold War, and a Russian spaceship has crashed back to Earth. The only survivor is Konstantin, but he's not alone. The ship was hijacked by an alien lifeform that's formed a symbiotic bond with the cosmonaut, giving him superb healing and strength in exchange for living in his throat. But the little monster is an evolving predator that stalks the night, savoring the taste of humans and their cortisol. Even worse, the Russian military is allowing this fiend's growth in order to study it, and few have the nerve to stop it.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After evading government officials for a while, Konstantin finally does the right thing. As in, he kills himself so that the alien dies with him. Still, it's implied that the little beast was the son he never had.

Powers/Abilities: The alien feeds off of cortisol, which helps it grow into a more efficient killing machine. It also forms a symbiotic relationship with its host, sharing their intellect and power.

Weakness: If the host dies, so does the creature.

Scariness Factor: 4-This alien is small, but no less utterly unsettling. While it's not the worst parasite by those standards, it still kills for the sake of getting its MANY teeth around nice hormones. Its slimy unfinished look doesn't help at all. Still, if you happen to be its host or at least a good friend of said host, it won't mind your presence...maybe.

Trivia: -Cortisol is a hormone that helps with memories, blood sugar levels, and managing stress altogether. It would be safe to say that this beast likes it for the latter function.

-Although it's easy to assume the title is referring to the famous Russian satellite, it is actually the Russian phrase for "companion", an apt description of the alien.
